Ivy has been a stray in Waverly, Iowa, in the NW part of Waverly by Pizza Ranch for at least the last 6 months. A kind man felt bad for her so set up an outdoor shelter and fed her for in his back yard. He finally decided she deserved a better life. So Ivy is now a Waverly Pet Rescue kitty. We got her shots, dewormed, flea preventative, tested FeLV / FIV negative, and spayed.

When we took Ivy in she was very much pregnant, oh my! Two weeks later she on May 5th, 2021, she had 2 healthy baby girls.

Ivy is about a-years-old as of July 2021. She was friendly and did not need to be trapped. She was picked up, put in a pet taxi, and taken to the vet. We already have her mom, named Poppy, listed online. Her kittens are named Juniper and Sage.

This summer we are going to work on trapping, vetting more cats in NW Waverly, and putting the feral ones on a nice farm. Here is our online fundraiser if you would like to help with that:

Ivy is as sweet as can be. She is super friendly and loving. She enjoys being petted and being held. She is loving life inside away from the extreme weather, always with food, water, and of course love and kindness.

Will someone please adopt Ivy and give her a forever home? $95 adoption fee.

WE ARE A NO-KILL 501-C-3 NON-PROFIT RESCUE. All donations are tax deductible. We do not have a shelter. All pets live in foster homes. We only adopt to indoor homes. To see an animal, you must fill out an application first and then once approved, we can set up for you to meet the animal you are interested in. We do background checks on all applicants. If you have assault, domestic abuse, or drug charges please do not apply. If you have questions, please send an email to waverlypetrescue@mchsi.com

All animals see a vet for shots and normal exams. If they appear healthy and there are no obvious health concerns, then extensive testing is not done. This is normal procedure for pet rescues and shelters.
Waverly Pet Rescue puts a lot of money into medical care for each dog and cat we take in. $200 is the average cost for basic care. This does not include if the animal had an injury, required extra flea / ear mite treatments, or needed extra days at the vet office.
