Meet Inara

Inara is a 1-year-old, sweet and lovey girl looking for her forever home!

Inara likes to play but is not excessively high-energy. She's a little skittish around feet, and when approached may scamper away, yet she loves to be pet and likes attention from her humans. While she'll let you pick her up, she doesn't love to be held for long. Inara is the kind of girl who likes to lounge and be petted, will sleep with you for part of the night, but is also happy doing her own thing much of the day. With love and a little patience, her fosters think she'd become quite the perfect lap cat. Even around her fosters' one-year-old baby she is great, and will simply retreat if overstimulated.

She likes playing with her foster brother--in moderation. He is more high energy so sometimes she has to give him signals that she's done, but is never truly aggressive (no serious bites or attacks, usually just a swat and/or verbal warning). She also loves when her fosters will throw things for her to chase, or use cat dancer toys. Once in a while they'll catch her proudly trotting through the house with a toy in her mouth! She loves sleeping in or on cat trees, window perches, and having space to explore.

She doesn't have a super high energy level but definitely benefits from a couple of sessions of play during the day. A playful companion cat and a session or two of play from her humans would be ideal.

Inara is currently living with a 1.5-year-old resident boy cat, two adults, a baby (full-time), and a 1st grader (part-time). She tends to steer clear of the little humans, but when there is quiet or calm may come to visit and sit near for pets. At night she will often join her humans on the bed for some snuggles, even the baby so long as there isn't too much flailing or excitement.

Inara likely would benefit from another moderate or lower-energy cat companion (after careful intro), or humans who are able to spend a lot of time at home and will engage in play with her. She'd also enjoy a bit of space to explore, cat trees and other perches to lie on, and also a place where she can be fed individually would be perfect.

She doesn't have any special medical needs, but she does tend to overeat. So scheduled, measured feedings are best. She is a pretty easy girl, so not a lot of experience would be needed.

Inara is about a pound overweight, but some careful feeding and play should get this sweet, pretty girl right back to where she's healthiest!

There is no guarantee of age and breed as a rescue animal's history is unknown. All ages and breeds are best estimate.

Adoption fees include a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%.

All cats have received comprehensive veterinary care and tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV unless otherwise stated.
