Meet HYDROX!
MEET HYDROX!
Nope, she's not just another black and white cat named Oreo - meet Hydrox! This sweet 12 year old cow-colored girl was surrendered to Philly's animal control shelter when her elderly owner could no longer care for a pet. Hydrox was quickly added to the "timestamp list" find rescue quickly due to her physical condition at the time.
The difference between Hydrox's condition when she was brought to the shelter to now is night and day! Hydrox had what was determined to be unmanaged chronic kidney disease which caused her to be extremely skinny, her coat a mess and her eyes sunken. Now that she's received the appropriate vet care and has been started on a kidney diet, Hydrox looks and feels like a whole new cat!
In addition to her new found health, she has a zest for life (and food!) and loves to chat with her foster parents. She's currently living with both cats and dogs and gets along with them wonderfully! Hydrox would be a great "apartment cat" cause she's found her favorite room in her foster home and spends most of her time there. She LOVES a good sun puddle where she can bask during the day but the couch or bed come in a close second. Hydrox is great about using her litter box. This very easy-going girl would be a great addition to just about any home!
Hydrox is available for adoption through City of Elderly Love! She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and is FIV/FeLV negative. She also recently received a dental cleaning.
