Huxley came to us after being found as a stray who was never claimed. We believe he was born in June of 2020 and would do well with other animals and humans ages 8 and older. Huxley is a sweet boy who can be a bit shy at first and may take a little more time to adjust to new people and surroundings. He would prefer to have a kitty friend in his new home or take a friend with him when he gets adopted! Once Huxley gets to know you he likes to be petted and getting tail bone scratches.

All pets adopted from the Humane Society of Freeborn County will be spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, testing and will be microchipped. All of this is included in their adoption fee. Fill out an application to adopt at freeborncountyhs.org

When transitioning your new pet home please allow for at least 4-6 weeks for your pet to adjust to their new home. They will need this time to decompress, and adjust to a new routine and environment. During that time we will provide check ins and counseling to ensure a successful transition.

Please review all basic adoption requirements listed on our website before applying. We take finding the right homes for the animals in our care very seriously. They deserve nothing but the best! Please allow 2-7 days for applications to be processed.

If an animal is listed in foster care, these pets are not at our facility, but are in foster care homes. They are still available for adoption, and meet and greets are done with pre-approved applicants only.
