Meet Honeybell

Honeybell is an energetic and charismatic 4-year-old cat looking for his forever home!

Named after a cross between a tangerine and a grapefruit, this stunning orange feline is as sweet as his namesake (or perhaps even sweeter).

Not only is Honeybell incredibly handsome, but he also has a wonderfully charming personality to match. Whether he's playfully bounding along at your heels or flopping over on his back to ask for another petting session, this sweet boy wants to be your companion in whatever you do. He sees new humans and animals alike as instant friends, always eager to greet whoever walks through the front door.

He's also quite the adventurous fellow, always curious about what the humans are up to and just what they have on their shelves and counters. Despite his graceful appearance, Honeybell has a tendency to be quite clumsy, tripping over his own paws during playtime or slipping off of counters just as often as he jumps onto them. If you're looking for a laugh and a bundle of sweetness, Honeybell is your man.

Although Honeybell is quite cuddly, often laying across your legs or putting his paws up on your legs for a big stretch, he's not a typical lapcat. His physical affection is best on his terms, with lots of head petting, cheek rubs, and chin scratches. He'll be pressed up against you almost constantly, but he doesn't quite know how great laps are (yet). When he gets excited, he also might give you soft bites and nibbles, but he stops if told to do so.

Honeybell's favorite thing to do is play, play, play, with cuddle sessions in between. Whether it's catnip mice, a wand toy, a ping pong ball, or even just a wayward string, Honeybell is always ready to show you just what a fierce hunter he is. While he certainly likes to chomp down on a brightly feathered toy at the end of a long chase, the full-tilt run is his favorite part of playtime.

As for sleeping, while he has plenty of cat beds and cat trees available, his absolute favorite spot to lounge is sinks and in the middle of the floor (conveniently, right in the busiest walkways). His soft chirps and hearty purrs are enough to melt even the coldest heart. When it's time to play or just to greet you, he'll run right at you with his fluffy tail held high.

Much like a kitten, Honeybell will be excited and playful in bursts, and is then more than content to sleep for a few hours. In the mornings, he's always the first to greet you, eager for interaction after you dared to spend a whole night sleeping away.

Honeybell is quite energetic, so someone willing to provide lots of daily engagement and enrichment is going to be absolutely essential to his well-being. Plenty of scratching posts and places to climb and explore are also a big plus! He loves looking out windows, and given his friendliness and energy levels, he would be a good candidate for a well-enclosed catio or harness training.

Honeybell currently lives with one working adult and one cat in an apartment.

The best place for Honeybell would be a larger apartment or home with one or more adults who can give him plenty of attention. As he gets along well with other cats, another young cat to be a playtime companion would be nice but is not necessary for him to thrive. Similarly, he's quite self-sufficient and would be suited to a home where his person (or people) have full working days.

There is no guarantee of age and breed as a rescue animal's history is unknown. All ages and breeds are best estimate.

Adoption fees include a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%.

All cats have received comprehensive veterinary care and tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV unless otherwise stated. Cats are up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations and have been spayed/neutered, treated for fleas and/or ear mites, de-wormed, and microchipped. Please note there may be additional follow up visits and boosters that are not covered by Pet Haven after adoption.
