Holly and her siblings were part of a trapping project in an industrial park where there was no human contact and with the cold weather (Dec 2024) and lack of a caretaker, it was decided that Cat Tales would put them in foster care and socialize them. She has come so far but she is still a work in progress. Because she is a scaredy-cat with people, she does not show well for meet-n-greets so the videos on Instagram represent how she is coming along.

Holly has taken several months with her current foster mom to feel comfortable enough to let her give pets and scratches. She went from hissing/swatting/growling/running away/hiding in small places and so tense from fear to a sweet, still very shy kitty who is slowing becoming a house princess. Holly is less scared of her foster dad’s presence and any new people who enter her space. She will hide but will eventually come out to play with the sound of her toy bell when the coast is clear. Holly has really taken to her foster mom. Holly started hanging out with her foster family watching tv and plays endlessly with her favorite toy, worm on a string!!

Holly’s progress has taken a lot work & consistency with the same routine every day and reading her body language. Whomever would like to adopt her will need to continue the process; understanding it may take just as long for her to adjust in her new home. She will need a buddy room where she can get to know her surrounds and her new people. Holly is not a fan of being approached quickly BUT when she is in a safe spot (comfy bed, cat tree cube or on top of her cage) she accepts pets and gives purrs and sometimes licks. She enjoys butt and chin scritches.

**HOLLY UPDATE : Holly has become quite comfortable in her foster home! She is out and about, loafing wherever she wants and most recently, has been sleeping in her foster parents bed with their other kitties. She loves looking at squirrels and birds from the window and is crazy running all over with the resident cats on the house. She runs up the cat tree, down the cat tress and slides down the hardwood floor hall. It is amazing to see how happy Holly has become. She will need an adjustment period for sure but her personality is really coming out and her foster mom is excited to see who will be the purr-fect fit for her.
