Meet Hobbs

Hobbs had a difficult start in life being trapped along with his feral mom from a colony of 20+ cats. Hobbs did not develop a sense of confidence or trust, and if older would have been neutered and released. But, we saw something special -- he was a sweet boy who wanted to love. Hobbs was in foster care the first 8 weeks with his trapper, then moved to a better environment for his needs: a quiet space where he could work on confidence and trust and learn how to kitten. Sill easily-frightened by loud noises and movements, in his new foster home, Hobbs slowly started to let his guard down. Now, Hobbs has become a cuddly, less-fearful boy who now follows his new foster mom all around his room wanting scratches, pats, head bumps, and kisses. He's still working on further building his confidence and is still easily spooked by noises, so Hobbs is looking for an adopter who will accept him for the shy guy he is and be willing to put in the daily time needed to make him feel safe and form trust so he can continue flourishing into the confident kitten he is becoming.

Once he's comfortable in his environment, Hobbs loves to play, especially with laser toys and feathers on a stick. Squishy toy balls and a cat tunnel to run through are also some of his favorite things to play with. He likes to carry the balls around in his mouth, which is super cute. He also enjoys having a cat tree and a place where he can go to when scared. Once he feels safe, he comes right out especially if you have treats. Hobbs is easy to pick up and place on your lap or in your arms where, feeling safe, he will give loud purrs until he falls asleep. In his safe spot inside the cat tree, Hobbs will roll over to invite you to give him pats and scratches.

Hobbs would do best in a quiet home where his human(s) will start him out in one room while they build trust and confidence together. Hobbs is super affectionate once he knows he’s safe and is currently in a foster home with older children (12 and 14) who take their time with him as he warms up. He seems interested in the resident cats meows in his foster home but has not met them. With gentle voices, music, and spending time with Hobbs, he now spends most of his time with his foster people.
