Meet Hoagie

Hi, my name is Hoagie! Here is what would work best for me in my new home:

-Personality: Affectionate (on his terms), confident, lap cat, independent, chatty
-Can Live with Cats: Unknown history - will need proper introduction to ensure everyone gets along
-Can Live with Dogs: Unknown history - will need proper introduction to ensure everyone gets along
-Can Live with Kids: Kids ages 12+ (I am prone to overstimulation)
-Needs Indoor Only Home: No
-History of Litter Box Issues: I have had a couple accidents here at the shelter, but this may be due to stress and/or lack of space
-Energy Level: Medium
-Bite History: No
-Needs Medical Procedure Before Going Home: Yes, a neuter/MC
Additional Information: Hoagie came to us as a stray who was likely living outside for quite some time. The person who found him was feeding him for 2+ months before bringing him to the shelter. He was a bit skeptical of people when he first arrived, but with time (and lots of treats) he has turned into a VERY affectionate boy. Hoagie can get a bit overstimulated if you don't respect his boundaries, so it would be helpful for potential adopters to have some cat experience. Since Hoagie was originally an outdoor kitty, it may be difficult to transition him to indoor-only - for this reason, we think it may be best if he gets some RESPONSIBLE outdoor time in his new home. If you'd like to meet Hoagie, the first step is filling out an adoption application.
