Meet Henri
This is Henri from Long Island, aka Mr. Sociable.
A month ago, he showed up in a garden in Long Island. The video shows him trying to persuade the homeowner to let him in. For five days, rain or shine, he sat by the door or on the window sill, crying and crying and crying. The homeowner could not take him in, but she did the responsible thing: she called a LI rescuer and offered to pay for his neuter and vetting. The rescuer in turn called us, and we agreed to take him, even though he tested positive for FIV. We simply could not stand the thought of a friendly cat crying in the rain.
Henri has taken over his foster home completely.
He is best buddies with all the other cats. From his usual perch on the window sill, he is like an ESPN anchorcat, commenting on everything he sees (squirrels, pigeons, clouds scudding by - he is entranced by all), occasionally turning around to make sure his foster mother, Kris, is following.
When Kris comes home from work he supervises dinner, in the hopes she will repeat the mistake of leaving food on the stove for one unattended minute. He still remembers the delicious fish he stole one night.
Once Kris is settled in to watch her TV shows, he leaps into her lap. "When he's on my lap he stares up at me so lovingly, it melts my heart," Kris says.
Henri is a lover.
Henri is very happy in his foster home, but he needs a home of his own. He is young, between one and two years old. He has been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. He is FIV positive but very healthy. And he is as friendly to other cats as he is to humans. Interested in adopting Henri? Please email magnificatrescue@gmail.com
