Meet this amazing boy, Hastings! He is looking for a loving home and an adopter that can promise forever means forever this time. Hastings has a sad backstory - he was obviously someone’s pet at some point because he was found as a friendly stray. But he had been let down by his humans and was forced to fend for himself outdoors. When he was brought to NAWS, it appeared he had been on his own for some time.

Hastings needed time to physically recover from life on the streets. He came in quite thin and with a few wounds. Emotionally, he had a few trust issues, but who could blame him? We placed Hastings in one of our wonderful foster homes - after much love, some TLC, and some medical care, the wounds have healed, and we are happy to report he has also made wonderful progress with trust.

Hastings loves to play. He loves attention. He is a little unsure and hesitant in new situations, but quickly adjusts. He likes other cats. He is a bit insecure around a dog in his foster home, but never aggressive. We think he would be fine living with other animals after a proper introduction or living as an only pet.

Hastings follows his foster around when he is feeling brave. He cries for attention when he hears his foster come home from work. He greets her with purrs and head bumps first thing in the morning. When he was first rescued, he needed a little work on his social skills - he tended to play rough and needed some correction. Now, we are happy to report, he saves his rough moments for his toys.

Hastings wants so much to be loved, but we know he has been let down by humans previously. He needs a forever person that will cherish his trust and love.
