Foster says this guy is THE most affectionate cat she has fostered for us and she has had quite a few ZFF fosters! 3y Lucky is lucky to have been brought into the shelter as a stray because he had a horrible hematoma in one ear that has been drained which now looks and, more importantly, feels better. This poor boy was also covered with fleas, flea dirt, flea eggs and now is feeling brand new!!! What is really incredible is that this guy is such a friendly cat after all he's been through! Foster writes: Lucky survived the streets and landed in the shelter. He is now in his foster home recovering soon from surgery on the hematoma in his left ear. Despite any discomfort, his purrsonality remains sweet. He is a gentleman cat, has a terrific appetite, is loyal to the litter box and uses a scratching pad.

All our cats are in the NY area and can be adopted out of state. We do like to meet you so plan on picking up; if flying, in cabin only; in some cases we will help with transport.

Please note: kittens MUST be adopted in pairs or to households with age appropriate cat(s) to ensure proper socialization and companionship. NO exceptions! If you would prefer a solo cat, we are happy to recommend cats who would do best as solos. Cats are spayed/neutered, FIV/Felv tested, FVRCP and Rabies vaxed, and microchipped.

Many of us (cats/dogs) will be on display on Saturdays or Sundays, weather dependent--please ask by writing us at cats@zanisfurryfriends.org and following us on FB. If you are seriously interested in adopting one of us in particular, please fill out an application by Friday so that we can be sure to be there. Otherwise we decide based on other variables. Usually we are in our foster homes so this is a bit more stressful and a slightly artificial environment but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes too. Please come! And if you can't adopt, you can perhaps foster, volunteer, and of course, you can always donate!
