Greta Garbo does NOT want to be alone! In fact the more the merrier. She was originally going to be a deli cat but she told the owners of the deli that she was not a mouser and absolutely did not want to be left alone all night. So home she went with them and she got along famously with the resident cat but they returned her to the shelter and now she is w/ us. She is VERY sweet and quite pretty. 1y 8lbs, just a tad overweight for her body type--she's an ectomorph/mesomorph, nottttt an endomorph. So we are working on new eating habits (high quality canned food and maybe raw diet) while she is waiting applications for her new furever home.

All our cats are in the NY area and can be adopted out of state. We do like to meet you so plan on picking up; if flying, in cabin only; in some cases we will help with transport.

Please note: kittens MUST be adopted in pairs or to households with age appropriate cat(s) to ensure proper socialization and companionship. NO exceptions! If you would prefer a solo cat, we are happy to recommend cats who would do best as solos. Cats are spayed/neutered, FIV/Felv tested, FVRCP and Rabies vaxed, and microchipped.

Many of us (cats/dogs) will be on display on Saturdays or Sundays, weather dependent--please ask by writing us at cats@zanisfurryfriends.org and following us on FB. If you are seriously interested in adopting one of us in particular, please fill out an application by Friday so that we can be sure to be there. Otherwise we decide based on other variables. Usually we are in our foster homes so this is a bit more stressful and a slightly artificial environment but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes too. Please come! And if you can't adopt, you can perhaps foster, volunteer, and of course, you can always donate!
