Meet Greef Karga

You must be a lover of sleeping with tigers because this gentle giant is the ultimate snuggler! His favorite way of sleeping is to burrow completely underneath the covers next to you. This also happens to be his favorite hiding spot when he doesn’t want to be found, so beware of sitting on lumps on the bed.

Greef has spent most of his life in a dark basement with not many toys but, plenty of cats. He was rescued from an overcrowded situation. His former owners seemed to love him a lot however, they lacked the education needed to understand that cats need plenty of playtime with space to run. Because of this Greef loves to play! You would never guess his age during playtime. He wants to play more than some of the other younger cats in his foster household. He is also an excellent red dot(laser pointer) hunter and bug killer. You can often find him buried in the cat toy pile, with the cat nip toys being his top pick!

Just recently FCACC helped him with dental surgery. He received a clean bill of health during that check up and also ended up with just 1 large front snaggletooth left. Because of this he requires a wet food diet. He does eat some dry food but, it is limited as it is hard for him to chew.

Greef is more on the shyer side and takes a bit to warm up to you but once he does, he is a confident snuggle ball of love. A quiet home would be best for this boy as loud noises tend to frighten him. He is totally comfortable around other cats and stands confident if other cats try to bully him. He enjoys the company of other cats but, tends to be more of a loner, minding his own business.

Greef Karga has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and virus-tested negative. His adoption fee of $95 supports Friends of Chicago Animal Care & Control in their mission to save Chicago's neediest animals. To obtain an application to adopt, email mbearchicago@gmail.com
