Meet Ginny & Malibu
Hello, furiends! Scruffy Paws is very happy to announce that Ginny and Malibu are available for adoption! Ginny and Malibu came to Scruffy from a horrible hoarding and inbreeding situation. They arrived in need of dental work and awful upper respiratory infections. You may have seen their buddy, Wallace - perpeptual head tilt kitty - also available for adoption. Ginny (orange and white) is 3 years and 2 months young, while Malibu (calico) is 4 years and 9 months young. Both are extremely friendly and sweet; Ginny is a bit shy at first but warms up quickly. They love attention and welcome any and all pets and chin scratches. They have small frames due to inbreeding. If you have other cats in your home - purrfect! Ginny and Malibu enjoy being in the company of other feline friends. Still, we are unsure how they would be in a home with dogs, other animals, or young children. We would love for them to be adopted together...or with Wallace!...but it is not a requirement. The adoption fee for Ginny is $175, and Malibu's fee is $150.
On a completely biased personal note...I have adopted one of the cats rescued from this hoarding situation. He is 4 lbs and a silly, happy, healthy, smart, lovely little furball who likes to cuddle and consistently invade your personal space. And it's awesome. Having come from a situation of living with so many cats, I know he appreciates having other cats in the home to play with!
Thank you for being so interested in adopting from Scruffy Paws Animal Rescue! If you see this post, we still accept applications for this cat(s)/kitten(s). Please refrain from emailing us regarding availability.
All adoption fees include spay/neuter surgery, microchip, rabies, and distemper vaccinations, proof of FIV/feline leukemia testing, flea treatment, deworming, and an exam by a licensed veterinarian.
Our shelter hours are by appointment only and are not open to the public. Many of our cats and kittens are located in foster homes. An adoption application MUST be submitted and approved before meeting our cats/kittens. We do this for the safety of our fosters and potential adopters.
Our adoption process includes the following:
1. Adoption Application
To be considered for this cat(s) or kitten(s), you MUST complete an adoption application:
- Through our website (preferred) at www.scruffypawsanimalrescue.org/
- Email a copy to scruffypawsanimalrescue@gmail.com
- Drop off a hard copy to either of our partner PetSmart locations (Johnston or North Smithfield)
- Mail a hard copy to Scruffy Paws Animal Rescue at 2944 Post Rd. Warwick, RI 02886
2. Veterinary Reference
Please call your vet beforehand to give permission to release records to our adoption team. Out-of-state adoptions typically require an exceptional veterinary reference and are at the discretion of our adoption team.
3. Proof of Home Ownership OR Landlord Approval
The landlord's contact information must be provided if renting so our adoption team can seek approval.
4. Home Visit
Please make sure you are located in our vicinity. We are based out of Warwick, RI. Due to COVID-19, we are currently doing virtual home visits until further notice.
