Meet Gemi

Gemi is a 6-year-old smart, quiet girl looking for her forever home.

Gemi is friendly, mellow, and a bit of an introvert. After breakfast, she seeks out a dark secluded spot to enjoy a long nap undisturbed. Throughout the day she may come to visit, possibly choosing to hang out nearby. She likes her people and appreciates a relaxed household vibe with mutual respect for personal space. At dinnertime, she'll become more affectionate, politely asking to be fed and pet.

Big, bold, and beautiful, Gemi loves to eat! One of her favorite treats is spider webs (see video). Gotta love a cat that helps clean the house! Her other favorite snack is feeding on fresh or dried catnip which helps maintain her mellow mood. Another treat for Gemi is getting to explore outdoors on a night. During the day is too scary, at least for now, but she can't get enough of the nightlife!

An intelligent kitty like Gemi can really benefit from healthy stimulation like interactive play with a laser or wand toy. She quickly learns rules of the house like staying off counters and using cardboard scratchers rather than furniture. With good training and patience she would likely learn some fun tricks which could boost her confidence and strengthen her bond with you.

Gemi is a kitty with anxiety, currently on the lowest dose of Fluoxetine, which she takes like a pro. While she'll walk right by a running vacuum cleaner and doesn't flinch at thunder or fireworks, things like a crying baby or certain cats could upset her. The level of stress in the home can affect this sensitive girl.

She is surprisingly friendly to adult strangers and might do well with a dog she can boss around (after a slow proper intro). She may be a bit jumpy in new surroundings but soon learns that your everyday sounds are not a threat. Once settled in a more predictable environment, the medication can carefully be eliminated with a vet's approval and guidance.

Gemi is truly a brilliant gem waiting to shine in the perfect setting.

There is no guarantee of age and breed as a rescue animal's history is unknown. All ages and breeds are best estimate.
