Garfield's Story

Garfield came to Furkids in January after being found on the side of the road with a fractured jaw, broken teeth, and an old hip fracture that had never been repaired. He tested positive for FeLV (Feline Leukemia Virus), but that didn't stop Furkids from making him a priority! He was such a pitiful boy upon arriving at his foster home, but after having the wire removed from his jaw, hip surgery, and dental extractions, his personality has really blossomed! He loves people and wants to always be around them! He is a perfect gentleman at home. He loves his scratchy pads and doesn't scratch furniture! He will make biscuits and sleep with you. He has a big purr and is a very beautiful and loving boy! He also loves treats and, if given the chance, will open the bag on his own! We believe that he once had a real home and now deserves a second chance after being so cruelly discarded. If you are interested in meeting Garfield, please visit furkids.org and apply today!

Garfield is FeLV+ (Feline Leukemia Virus), by Combo Test and PCR. He should be adopted with siblings with similar testing results or into a home with no other cats. Post-adoption care for FeLV-related illnesses is provided at Furkids HQ. Vaccines and injuries are not covered; nor are heroic measures that may not improve their condition. Quality of life is key.
