Meet Garfield

Garfield was found outside in January of 2019 during that terrible polar vortex. He had his throat ripped into by some animal, we think it was a dog, and several bite wounds on the top of his head. It was known from the first day that he was going to be a lover because, even with a large flap of skin hanging off his neck and all his injuries, this boy was still purring like mad. Garfield ended up having to have some intense surgery to repair all the damage which left him without a scruff and about a month of healing. Fast forward 3 months and it has been noticed that he drinks a lot of water and pees a lake every time he is in the box. Sure enough, he turns out to be diabetic. At first, he was started on insulin to control his blood sugar but after a diet change, no dry food, he is completely off the insulin and is stable.

This boy is one of the most loving cats. He wants to be loved and be in your lap or right in front of you. He purr is so loud it sounds like pigeon, snores like crazy, and has a meow like someone who has been smoking for 80 years. Garfield loves to be petted as long as you don't touch the belly. He loves to lick and give love bites. He can get overstimulated if you pet him to rough so he is not recommended for homes with small children.

Garfield needs a home where he can run and play. Do you have room in your heart for 15 lbs of love?
