What is Humane Society of Lackawanna County DBA Griffin Pond Animal Shelter’s adoption process?
Adoption hours are noon to 4:00 pm, 6 days a week -- closed Tuesdays. Hours may vary due to construction. Potential adopters are required to complete an application and sign an adoption contract. All adopted animals are vaccinated for distemper, bordetella (dogs), microchipped, have had one worming, one flea treatment, and FeLV/FlV tested (cats). All adopted animals must be seen by a veterinarian within 72 hours, and must be seen annually for check up and vaccinations. Griffin Pond Animal Shelter is located at exit 197 off Route 81. Turn off the exit ramp onto Rte. 632 West. Drive .4 mile on 632W and turn left into Ivy Industrial Park (Griffin Pond Rd). The shelter is located .4 miles in on the right side across from the PEXCO building.
