Fred's Story

Meet Fred, a charming and affectionate male orange tabby eagerly seeking his forever home! He was discovered alongside his four siblings and their mother in someone's yard. Together, they were rescued and given the opportunity for a better life. While their mother has already found a loving family, Fred and his siblings are now ready to find theirs!
Fred has a gentle nature and loves being around other animals, especially his siblings. As they have all become accustomed to people, they are excited to share their affection with a new family. Fred and his siblings are FeLV positive, which means they carry a virus that can compromise their immune systems. However, many cats with FeLV lead long and healthy lives without significant problems.
Although this condition doesn't dampen Fred's lively personality, it does mean that his adoption fee has been waived! Because they are FeLV positive, it's essential for them to be kept as indoor cats and to be the only cats in the household to prevent the spread of the virus. It's important to note that FeLV is not contagious to other animals, such as dogs, and as long as all cats in the home are FeLV positive, there is nothing to worry about.
If you're considering adopting two kittens, why not welcome Fred and one of his siblings into your home? They will bring endless joy and companionship to your life!
**Adoptions are by appointment only. To schedule an appointment, please fill out an application online on our website, and someone will contact you.**
**All cats and kittens adopted from the Boone Area Humane Society must be kept as indoor-only pets and cannot be declawed.**
**All cats are spayed or neutered, FeLV tested, and microchipped. They are also dewormed and receive age-appropriate vaccinations.**
