Meet Evie

Hello, my furiends! This beauty is Evie! She is a lovely little tabby looking for her forever home. Evie is 2 years and 11 months old and came to Scruffy Paws quite some time ago after being found living on the streets, trying to survive the Big Outside. She is timid but certainly food-motivated! She feels safe in her cage and enjoys getting her pets in there. Watch this sweet tabby turn into a playful furball when you turn on that laser light! We do suggest having a cage for Miss Evie, giving her a quiet, safe space to get cozy in, and in time, she will allow you into her circle of trust.

Evie loves the company of other outgoing cats. Having another human-friendly cat in the home will help Evie with her catfidence skills. Her bestie at the shelter is Ringo! (Can you blame her? Look at the boy's furry face!) They are not biologically related, but they have been sheltermates since being rescued. They found comfort in each other even though they were not rescued from the same place. We would love to see them adopted together, but it is not required. We recommend a home with older children and we are unsure how Evie would be in a home with dogs or other animals. But we are sure that Evie will benefit from a quiet, loving family who understands that being timid doesn't make you unadoptable...time, patience, and a whole lotta love for Evie!

Thank you for being so interested in adopting from Scruffy Paws Animal Rescue! If you see this post, we still accept applications for this cat(s)/kitten(s). Please refrain from emailing us regarding availability.

All adoption fees include spay/neuter surgery, microchip, rabies and distemper vaccinations, proof of FIV/feline leukemia testing, flea treatment, deworming, and an exam by a licensed veterinarian.

Our shelter hours are by appointment only and are not open to the public. Many of our cats and kittens are located in foster homes. An adoption application MUST be submitted and approved before meeting our cats/kittens. We do this for the safety of our fosters and potential adopters.

Our adoption process includes the following:

3. Proof of Home Ownership OR Landlord Approval
If renting, the landlord's contact information must be provided so our adoption team can seek approval.

4. Home Visit
Please make sure you are located in our vicinity. We are based in Warwick, RI. Due to COVID-19, we are conducting virtual home visits until further notice.

**Please note: Our volunteers try their hardest to contact every applicant in a timely manner but are often overwhelmed with a high volume of applications. Please allow up to two weeks for a response. We ask you to please be considerate and refrain from sending multiple follow-up emails or submitting duplicate applications.
