Meet Ernie

Ernie is a 1 year old, dappled black & white cat with the sleek body, round head, and deep voice of a Siamese. He has these gorgeous, deep green eyes that will mesmerize you. But he is not just a pretty cat. He has a big, delightful personality. He is strikingly people-oriented, craving touch and eye contact, He loves to spend time with his humans no matter what they do, as long as they do it together with him. To say that he is a smart cat is not to say anything about Ernie. He is potentially the smartest cat you will ever meet in your life. He loves playing with springs and doesn't just chase them around. He plays fetch with them. Sometimes he catches springs with his mouth and sometimes with his paws. It is still being debated whether his latest foster family has taught him how to play fetch or whether he trained them to play fetch with him. He will carefully collect all his springs, when he is done playing, placing them all in the same place. If other cats around him like playing with springs he will start hiding them, but still all in the same place. This is just a small glimpse into a day with Ernie.
Ernie is a very social and vocal cat. But he is not just social with humans. He is fine with dogs and loves other cats and even befriended a squirrel at his current foster residence communicating with it through a window, Since his current foster family keeps fostering little kittens, Ernie loves to "adopt" kittens giving them baths, playing with them and showing them otherwise how to be a proper cat, Yes, Ernie is that sweet!
Ernie was rescued as a very thin, frail kitten. He and his brother were runts in a big litter and just could not compete with their more robust siblings. They had no chance on their own. They were bottle-fed and nurtured back to vibrant health. Ernie is bright and full of fun, but he was left with delicate joints, especially his elbow and hip. He recently had hip surgery due to severe arthritis so he can be mobile again. He runs, jumps, and plays endless games of fetch, but he would thrive best in a home where possibility of additional trauma is limited. The vet has recommended a one-story home would be best. He craves a lot of attention from humans, But having regular animal playmates helps to minimize his need to shadow you. However, large dogs and rough play would not be best match due to health reasons mentioned above.
Recently Ernie has "adopted" a kitten, Tillerman, who is clearly more than just another foster kitten to him. They make quite a dynamic duo and we would like to see them adopted together. This would insure that you have a perfect playmate for Ernie at all times and would make Ernie's transition to another location easier. Tillerman is a young, 4-pound, gray and white kitten, also a remarkably personable bottle-baby. He was found starving in a well house, but he thrived in foster care, and he is so handsome now! He loves to play, any game will do, but he prefers napping after play in a warm human lap. He enjoys wrestling with Ernie. Ernie’s legs are twice as long, with twice the reach, but that does not slow Tilly down. He is fearless. Tilly doesn’t fetch Ernie’s toy yet, but the mischievous scamp will carry it away to capture Ernie’s attention. This sweet pair will enliven any home adding fun and affection.

Adoption fee is $100 for one/ 150 for two and includes spay/neuter surgery, initial & booster distemper vaccinations, rabies vaccination, de-worming, and testing for feline leukemia/FIV.
