Meet Elaine & Jerry’s Kittens
Cat loving Shamokin residents Elaine and Jerry have been trying to trap a very prolific stray female cat for what seems like years. They were just fostering her last litter of six-month-old kittens when they found mama had 6 more four week old kittens under their shrubs in late July 2018.
The very next day when they were trying to figure out a Plan B for these new kittens, much to his horror Jerry looked out his window to find a raccoon running off with one of them! Jerry ran to the kitten’s rescue beating off the raccoon, but the the kitten looked critically injured. She had a large bleeding puncture in her hip and wasn’t using her paw. They rushed the little gray and white girl they named Olivia to the vet and she was given treatment. A month later she is doing well and very attached to her hero Jerry.
Because of this terrible scare Elaine and Jerry immediately took the kittens in and bottle-fed them as they were only four or five weeks old. They are now all healthy, active beautiful kittens. And on a bright note they finally trapped mom and were able to get her spayed, So the cycle will end with her last litter. What a wonderful striking group of kittens she last gave us though!
The litter has tested negative for FeLV/FIV, up-to-date on vaccines, dewormed and spay/neuter will be covered. If you were interested in visiting adopting any of these gorgeous kittens please contact Michelle at 570-759-0920 or michelle@nokillarc.org.net to schedule a visit in the foster home.
