Chuck is a simple man with simple needs. He enjoys snoozing most of the day, in a variety of locations. He likes breakfast and dinner and he likes toys on strings. Every time he sees a sting, it's like the first time. He can bat at them for hours! He grooms himself, and has a little bit of scruff sounding breathing--but he is in perfect health says the internist and other specialist he has seen to make sure there is nothing that needs mending. He loves watching birds and squirrels out the window--and will give them a little "chatter" hello--but also just enjoys smelling the great outdoors from the safety of a screen door. If you're looking for a couch potato who loves to nap--you've met your match!!

Chuck gets along with four small dogs, adult cats and also kittens. He is very gentle and very tolerant of all he meets.

Chuck is neutered and vaccinated, but does have FIV. Cat with FIV live happy, normal lives. Having FIV just means any injuries or illness he may get need to be monitored and treated quickly. Yes, he has a lowered immune system, but it is by no means a life-threatening issue. Now that Chuck is an indoor only gentleman his chances of injury have decreased to almost zero. The latest veterinary scientific studies show that FIV is rarely (if ever) transferred through mating--but instead through deep bites wounds during unneutered male v. male fighting (not play fighting) or a deep bite wound an unneutered male cat gives a female after mating. Cats with FIV can live with non-FIV cats. For more information, please visit Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine's website and search FIV.
