Eadric-Rare Purebread Turkish Van Kedisi

If you are looking for a buddy who craves attention, this guy is the perfect companion.

Eadric is a Turkish Van Kedisi-a breed only rarely ever seen outside of Turkey. Eadric's fur has the feel of cashmere or angora.

This crazy-friendly kitty is really the next best thing to having a dog! He is interested in water and fetching. Friendly and very social, Eadric loves head and belly rubs - but will monitor the amount of that he will crave at any given time. . Enjoys hanging out next to his people.

He will not do well in a home where someone is gone all day or not home a lot. He does have a little younger buddy, Tanner, who he grooms and sleep cuddled up together.with. Tanner would keep him happy and occupied if the new family is busy outside of the home or is gone a few days a week during the day or night. So they could and maybe should go as a pair but that's not in stone, yet. Eadric is pretty laid back but also has his active moments and likes to play, also.

He will carry on a conversation with you. If his new family owns a dog, careful introductions will need to be made and he will need a safe place to be able to get away from the dog when he needs to but he most likely will make his own relationship with a dog.

Eadric will not do well in a home where there is a previous cat dweller in the home already.

He would be overjoyed to share your bed at night. He will follow you around the house and will sit next to you when you lay down, is happy to meet you at the door when you come in. You can plan on tripping over him as you walk and is known to try and share your meals.

He is good with kids although will not tolerate any mishandling by younger ones- they can expect to be scratched if they do not respect his cues when he wishes to be left alone. For that reason a home with children should be older kids who know how to not cross those lines and have respect for a pets space.

Eadric is about 2 1/2 years old and still growing. Needs a home where he has room to move about and get exercised daily with tall cat trees and/or stairs to run up and down.
Call us for a appointment to meet him. .

*************************************************************************************************

All of our cats/kittens have been feline leukemia tested, dewormed and brought up to date on all vaccines before adoption. (With the exception of when we take in an animal in emergency situations.) If not spayed or neutered before adoption they will only be adopted out on a spay/neuter contract which may also require a refundable deposit. In an emergency rescue/placement situation, we will happily let you know which of these items will still need to be done after you bring the cat or kitten home.

Whenever possible, we prefer that our younger kittens be adopted out to homes that either already have other friendly animals in residence who will play with them OR (if there are no other animals in the home) can be adopted as a pair with a sibling or another bonded cat/kitten from the same foster home.

For ideal health, bonding and social development reasons, we always try to keep our kittens with their siblings and their mothers until they are completely finished nursing- which generally occurs around 12 weeks of age. If you see a little companion that you feel is a good fit for your home, you are always welcome to come and meet him or her at any time! And a deposit placed down at any of your visits will ensure that they are adopted out only to your family when they are ready.

Please also be aware that all of our cats and kittens will only be adopted out to homes which do not plan on having them de-clawed. If this is something you feel is important, however, we do have quite a few cats that have come into the rescue already de-clawed by their former owners. These guys and gals are of all ages, cuddly and very affectionate. We would be overjoyed to put you in contact with them if you are at all interested.
