Hello. My name is Duchess. I am named for the sophisticated mother cat in the movie The Aristocats. I am just as elegant as the Duchess in the film, and a new mom. My two kittens, Marie and Toulouse, and I were surrendered by our owner to the St. Johns Animal Shelter. I do not understand why we were abandoned, and I would love for us each to find new fur-ever homes.

I am three years old, and I resemble a European-bred Chartreux cat. I am very calm and serene. My foster mom describes me as an “old soul.” I am quiet and almost never meow except when dinner comes---then I make my happy noise. My favorite food, by the way, is sardines as a special treat. I you are feeling sad or stressed, I am the purrfect companion for you. Just scratch behind my ears and look into my pumpkin eyes. I will softly purr, maybe roll over for a belly rub, and perhaps even crawl into your lap to share some mutual peace.
