MEET DOUGIE FRESH, JAZZY JEFF, and VANNA!

Some of our longest term residents at MEOW are hoping to find their furrever homes!

Dougie Fresh and Jazzy Jeff are a pair of 9 month old brothers that came to MEOW Cat Rescue last September after a volunteer found them as part of a larger colony outside of Tacoma. Very skittish and untrusting of humans at first, Dougie and Jazzy spent some time in foster care learning to trust people, before making their way to our shelter for consistent socialization with a wider variety of people. From their beginnings as frightened kittens doing what they could to survive, Dougie and Jazzy have made significant progress during their time in our care. Both cats allow pets once they get to know you and enjoy engaging in play and being given treats. They have become very comfortable with their predictable routine in our shelter and will often be found waiting at the door for their regular play sessions and feeding times which are done on a fairly consistent schedule. Nevertheless, both cats are very independent and will likely never be traditional lap cats, but would make great feline housemates when taken on their own terms.

Dougie and Jazzy's mom, Vanna, is quite a bit more independent than her two boys, but also enjoys her play and treat sessions all the same. Vanna generally prefers to stay near Dougie and Jazzy and grows stressed when not in their company. Like the two brothers, Vanna marches to the beat of her own drum and will likely never be a traditional lap cat, instead preferring to exist as a live-in feline roommate.

Dougie Fresh, Jazzy Jeff, and Vanna would do best with an adopter/s who understands that they may take some time to adjust to a new situation and is comfortable with allowing them to build their confidence on their own terms (luckily, both young felines are very treat and play motivated). They would likely not do well in a home with a dog, but feel very comfortable around other cats.

Due to their close bond, Jazzy Jeff, Dougie Fresh, and Vanna MUST be adopted out as a trio.
