Meet Doug

DOUG is an 9-month-old male young cat who has a lot of physical characteristics of a Maine Coon cat: big build, huge feet with hair between the toes, hairy ears (but not "lynx tips"), a slight ruff, a very long and fluffy tail. He has a stunning brown tabby and white coat. Doug is a loving and playful young cat. He's learning how to place nicely with human hands and feet and also enjoys playing with toys and a good vertical scratching post. Doug would love a home where someone would play with him. He has young cat energy to expel. Once he's satisfied his curiosity or finished playing he will likely plop down within sight of his human. He doesn't seem to care for fluffy bedding, but he does like a sheltered cubby hole (like his cat carrier). He will probably become more of a lap cat when he matures. Doug is skittish about noises, especially from outside or another room. Slow introductions with new people is what Doug needs as he adjusts to his new home. Doug is a sweet boy who is inquisitive and friendly. He enjoys a perch where he can watch squirrels and birds of all kinds. Doug was friendly right away and slept his first afternoon here. He is very curious and loves to explore. He has demonstrated a very strong fear reaction to other cats. He has not been around dogs, but might be happiest as an only pet. Will Doug be the best new addition to your family?

Doug has been tested for feline leukemia and FIV (negative), neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and includes a free wellness vet visit with our vet partners. Meet Doug at the cattery inside our partner Petco, 1169 Valley River Dr., Eugene, OR 97401 and submit an adoption application for consideration at CatRescues.org/Adopt or a paper copy available at the store. A volunteer will contact you within 2-3 days with possible next steps. The $145 adoption fee allows us to continue to provide care and find loving homes for abandoned and neglected cats in our Eugene/Springfield community.
