Dora is a beautiful and petite fluffy cat. She is a friendly girl who when she's not looking regal and glamorous loves to cuddle. Dora is 9 years old and declawed.
Dora and Gideon both are comfortable with polite dogs and other cats.
Dora came to Homeward Trails with her brother Gideon. These two cats have a very sad story. They spent their entire lives living with a family after they were found as young kittens by a dumpster. A few years ago the family adopted two puppies and had expected everyone to get along. Sadly, the puppies, now large dogs, have proven to be aggressive and dangerous to the cats. The cats are now in a safe foster home and eager to find a loving forever home.
Adoption Coordinator: Lois
Breed Estimate: DLH
De-Clawed: Yes
Approximate age: 9 years
The adoption fee for both Dora and her brother Gideon is $320 which helps with the cost of routine vet care. This fee INCLUDES spay/neuter surgery. If the animal you are adopting is not already spayed/neutered, you will be required to sign a contract legally obligating you to have the animal altered.
If you are interested in adopting these cats, please fill out our cat adoption questionnaire and e-mail it to LoisLHT@gmail.com. You can find the adoption questionnaire by visiting this website: http://www.homewardtrails.org/adopt-a-pet/pet-adoption-forms/#.VGtHffnF8gU
We are proud to partner with the following veterinarians who offer a free first exam for your animal, exclusively for HT adopters: Caring Hands Animal Hospital, Palisades Veterinary Clinic, Sunshine Animal Hospital and Clarendon Animal Care and all VCA Animal Hospitals.
Additionally, any VCA hospital will cover illnesses up to $250 at no cost to any Homeward Trails adopter.
You can save animals like this one by becoming a foster! Fosters are like way stations between high kill shelters and forever homes. We need fosters so that we can save cats before they are euthanized at the shelters. If you are interested in becoming a foster, please check out our information about fostering by visiting http://www.homewardtrails.org/foster-a-pet/dog-and-cat-foster-program/
