Meet DOLLIE - Waiting Over a Year
AGE: 2 - 3 years
DESCRIPTION: DSH - Tortoiseshell
LOCATION: PETS Shelter (114 W Main Street) - Panora, IA
MY STORY:
Dollie and her 4 kittens were found by a kind human when she was on a walk. She immediately got them to safety and took care of them until she could find a rescue/shelter that could assist the little family. Fortunately, we had an open foster home that could take them in. Initially, the whole family was quite scared and we thought it might take some time for them to show their true purrsonalities but they have come along amazingly.
After raising her kittens (she was an outstanding mama!) Dollie moved from a foster home to the shelter. We thought she would be very shy but she surprises us every day with her ease at the shelter and how quickly she blended in to a hut with two other nice kitties. She may need a little extra time and patience to settle in to a new home but she will definitely be worth it as she has much loyalty and love to offer. She is very sweet with not the slightest hint of "tortitude"! Dollie has an amazing dark tortie coat and light sea green eyes and is a true beauty both inside and out.
MORE DETAILS:
Inside-only home and must keep claws. The adoption fee for this kitty is $100. Adopt a pair of kitties for $150. Each cat and kitten has been: altered (spayed/neutered), vaccinated (age-appropriate) - rabies and distemper combo, microchipped, tested for FeLV (negative unless previously noted), and treated for fleas, ear mites, and worms.
We ask that interested parties fill out a cat adoption questionnaire. Please fill out the questionnaire only if you are seriously considering adopting this sweet kitty. You can get the application by going to our website at "http://www.panorapets.com/adopt"
and clicking on the "Cat Adoption Questionnaire" button at the top of the page. Once you have submitted the questionnaire, a volunteer adoption coordinator will contact you usually within 24 hours. Please be patient and thank you for your interest in this kitty.
Please note: Upon approval of the adoption questionnaire, we may request a home visit prior to completing the adoption.
P.E.T.S. supports the "Paws Need Claws" Campaign. Cats are rather attached to their claws; please do not de-claw your cats.
