Meet Destiny

Destiny gets her name because it was her 'destiny' to be rescued by one of our volunteers who was on travel and found her in a hotel parking lot looking for help. Once Destiny made her way back to Maryland, she was taken to our vet to get care for her cloudy, weepy eye that she kept mostly closed. After exam, it was determined that Destiny had no sight in that eye and removing it would make her more comfortable. We also learned that Destiny is Feline Leukemia (FeLV) positive which means she had an exposure to the feline leukemia virus while she was outdoors or from her mother. We have had Destiny retested 3 more times and she had 1 negative test and 2 more positive tests so we are looking to place her into a home as an only cat or with other FeLV positive cats.

Destiny is feeling much better and looking for her forever home! Her fosters says that Destiny is a sweet little cat who is estimated to be one year old. She has the most unique coloring, mostly white with circles of calico splashed on her coat. Destiny is a very playful and loves to chase her own tail (see video). She can be demure but likes to hang out in the room where her family is to see what's going on. She is still learning about house noises so she can be a little jumpy, but with patience, she warms up to people. She is very entertaining whether its playing with a favorite spin toy or fake mice or just running around the house. She likes to watch the squirrels and birds out the window as well.

Destiny lives in a home with a 12 year old girl so she will do okay with older quiet children. If you have questions about FeLV please email us and one of our volunteers will give you a call!

All of our cats and kittens are rescues. They are mixed breed unless otherwise noted. If a cat or kitten is tagged as a particular breed we do not have papers to verify the breed information. We assign breeds to our cats and kittens based on similar appearance, size, and temperament as described in the breed description of a purebred cat.

ABOUT OUR ORGANIZATION: Cats R Us is a not for profit, 501(c)(3) cat rescue group that operates two small shelters and a foster home program in the Annapolis, Maryland area. Our main focus is TNvR-M (Trap, Neuter, vaccinate, Return and Monitor) of community cats but we also have tame cats and kittens available for adoption. All of our adoptable cats and kittens are found as strays. We are a NO KILL facility and our cats will stay with us as long as it takes for them to find their forever home. Our adoption fee is $120.00 for kittens under 1 year (2 for $200), $100 for cats over 1 year (2 for $180), and $150 - $250 for exotic breed cats or kittens. The adoption fee helps our rescue cover the cost of all initial vet work including a wellness exam, spay or neuter, vaccinations, tested negative for FeLV and FIV (unless otherwise noted), treated for parasites (fleas, ticks, intestinal worms, ear mites), and microchipped.
