Meet Delilah
Delilah tested positive for FIV. Cats with FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) can live long, happy lives and they can live with other friendly cats. FIV is mainly spread through deep bite wounds, not through everyday contact like grooming, sharing food bowls, toys, or litter boxes.
If the cats in the home are friendly and not prone to fighting, the risk of transmission is extremely low. Many FIV+ cats live peacefully with FIV-negative cats for years without ever passing on the virus. FIV is not transferable to humans or dogs.
The most important thing is to maintain a calm, stable home and to make proper introductions, just like with any new cat. Regular vet checkups and good care will help keep everyone healthy.
Delilah's adoption fee has been covered by a generous donor. All pets are microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and will be altered prior to adoption. If you are interested in meeting a cat, stop by the shelter during open hours.
