Delaney was found outside in the cold of February. The rescuers noted that she was pregnant and attempted to get her indoors before she gave birth but when she was found in the following days, she had her one baby boy kitten with her. Delaney and her baby (Joey) were in foster care just a few days after she gave birth. Delaney is only a little over a year old, nearly a kitten herself. She has the sweetest face with piercing yellow eyes that express the struggles she’s faced in the past with a hint of youth and playfulness that is showing more and more every day. Initially, she was fiercely protective of her baby kitten, but she quickly came to trust her foster family and acclimated to life as an indoor cat. There is no going back outside for this girl. In the past 3 months in foster care, she has become very friendly and loves to be held (when the human is standing). She does not cuddle on the lap often, but once she settles in her forever home, we are sure she will become a snuggle bug. It took some time for her to learn how to play. She had no interest in anything except caring for her kitten for the first 6 weeks but as he got more independent, she began to look for human interaction. Now she loves to play with the laser or teaser wands. She loves to look out the window especially when she sits in front of the screen and can hear all the outside activity like birds chirping, cars driving by along with the wind blowing, and the movement of the trees.
