Unfortunately, her original owner was elderly and could no longer take care of her so she was surrendered to a shelter. She was getting very stressed in a noisy, crowded place after being in a quite only kitty home with only her person for most of her life. Of course, she has now been doing very well here in foster care but it is believed that Davina would do best in a calm and generally quiet household.
This sweet kitty is always on the go and either wants to proudly strut around exploring or be attached to her person. She gets the zoomies every once and a while but more than anything she is serious about being petted. Flopping over and rolling around to show her tummy (allows it to be touched too!), rubbing up against her person, or giving love bites to remind someone she wants attention. She also loves sitting up high on her cat tree or in the loft bed that is in her foster room. Looking at the birds and other critters outside on her window ledge is also a favorite activity. Brushing isn’t her favorite thing since the brush is way more fun to play with, but with lots of pets and a few treats she usually does a great job. Luckily her fur doesn’t seem to tangle or mat very easily.
She does sometimes need reminders to only scratch at the appropriate areas but is easy to correct. Most likely the only reason she scratches (at the door/flooring near door) is because she wants out of her foster room and to be with the other kitties and people. Her foster home is confident this behavior would stop once given full range of her own home. Davina is not a fan of car rides. She gets very stressed out and panics. This is very manageable with a small amount of medication (which gets hidden in her wet food) and once she gets to the vet she is a real trooper.
With proper introductions, Davina would probably be fine with another calm kitty. She has met other kitties in foster care and didn’t have any issue. It is unknown how she would do with a dog. Small children would probably be too much for her as she can get over stimulated and nibble. She would most likely do fine with calm older children. ADOPTION FEE $75. FOSTERED IN PERRY, MI.
