Darling Darla's Story

Meet Darla, a stunning tuxedo girl with a heart as beautiful as her coat. Approximately 6 years old, Darla was rescued from N. 11th St. in Newark, where she spent years fending for herself as one of many cats being fed by neighbors. Despite being a favorite of one man on the block, no one ever took responsibility for getting her spayed, and she had litter after litter of kittens, year after year.

When Darla was rescued, she was pregnant once again and had very few teeth left in her mouth, leaving her vulnerable and defenseless outside. But even after all she’s been through, Darla remains an absolutely amazing, sweet, and affectionate cat. She deserves so much more than the hardships she’s endured—she deserves the love and care of a forever family who will cherish her.

Now safe in foster care, Darla has been fully vetted and is enjoying the security and comfort of indoor life. This petite girl has been relishing her newfound peace so much that she could stand to lose a pound, but who can blame her after years of running to survive? Darla is a gentle and loving soul who is ready to share her incredible affection with a family that will treasure her as she deserves.

Located in Newark, NJ, Darla is ready to find her forever home, and transportation is available for the right family.
