Darby is all long legs and golden eyes. She is more like a baby deer than a cat, and like a fawn separated from her mom, Darby is a little lost and scared. In new situations, Darby will explore tentatively, coming back to you every few moments for reassurance that you aren’t leaving, that she can depend on you. And you won’t mind giving that reassurance (along with some pets), because Darby is such a soft, sweet girl.

Once she feels safe, Darby will play cheerfully. She is a very affectionate girl, leaning against you, and pushing her head into your hand asking for petting. She wants love from her people and she wants to love you back twice as much. Darby may never be the confident life of the party (if you want that ask us about Trevor). But if you have a soft spot for the beautiful quiet ones, Darby will quickly steal your heart.

Darby has shown no aggression with other respectful cats and has lived with a cat in the past, so we believe that she would do well with another gentle cat. She would also be fine as a one and only in a home where someone is often home and will spend time reassuring her at the start.
