Daisy's Story

Why Choose me?

**RESCUE GROUPS: Daisy now has $50 sponsorship for rescue**

Update 9/17/16 – Check out Daisy & Duke’s new professional photos! These kitties were great with our photographer and are captured in some great poses. Both kitties are friendly, and still as cute as ever. All they need now is a home where they can live happily. Come meet Daisy & Duke today!

Update 8/13/16 – Daisy and Duke haven’t had much interest at the shelter because they were so nervous when they first came in. But they’ve made such huge strides forward. Duke especially has come out of his shell. These kittens need your help to get out of our overcrowded shelter, so please apply to adopt them today!

Update 8/6/16 – These kittens have really learned to relax at the shelter over the past few weeks as you can see in their new photos. But they’re still looking for their furever home (either together or separately), and our shelter is absolutely FULL. So we need these two to find homes ASAP! Please apply to adopt one or both of them soon!

These two kittens came in with their Mom (Mrs. Meow) when they were only 8 weeks old. They’ve actually been with us now for a little over a month because they all came in with upper respiratory infections and needed treatment. Thankfully, they’re all healthy now, and thanks to Athenspets’ Spay/Neuter Fund, they’re now altered and up-to-date on their shots and ready for their furever homes.

While their mom is quite friendly, these two kittens are still a little bit uncertain around visitors. They’re not at all aggressive or hissy, but both seem to worry that people will hurt them. It’s so interesting watching them interact because it’s obvious that they both are curious about people, especially if you have a toy or drum your fingers on sides of their kennel. They also seem very interested when you make different sounds, like clicking your tongue or making kissing sounds. They are so obviously torn between their naturally inquisitive nature and their uncertainty. They seem to enjoy being petted though, and they’re continuing to gain confidence around people more and more. Come get to know them today!

For the most timely information on the availability of this cat and how to adopt, call the Athens Animal Control cat shelter Tuesday-Thursday, 10am-4pm. 706-613-3887!

You can read more about this cat and check out additional photos here: http://www.athenspets.net/available-cats or on our Facebook page here: http://tinyurl.com/Athenspets-Cats-FB-Album.
