Meet Dahlia

This little kitty as pretty as a flower is Dahlia. She was an outside stray being cared for by a man who had to go into a nursing home and could no longer care for her. Unfortunately she just had four kittens. Foster mom Peg went to check things out. The kittens were all sick and the caretaker at the home suggested throwing them into the nearby pond for the turtles to eat. Peg new she couldn’t leave the family there.

Shortly after coming into foster care Dahlia also fell very sick. She recovered later, but could no longer nurse the kittens. Her kittens were cared for by a surrogate mother.

Dahlia is now fully recovered and available for adoption. She is a sweet nymph who is quietly affectionate. She’s has a sweet cry to greet you with. She loves to be petted and will come over on your lap if you sit down. She drools with delight as you rub her head as she sticks her little pink tongue out in glee. It’s fun to watch her “make biscuits” with her paws like a kitten nursing it’s mother.

Dahlia had some sort of trauma to the right side of her head from her outside past. She has a healed ulcer on her eye and her ear is gently folded back. Neither are issues for her. She has pretty orange black and white calico markings and is estimated at 5-6 years of age.

Dahlia is FeLV/FIV negative, up-to-date on vaccines, litter trained, dewormed, microchipped and spayed. If you are interested in adopting Dahlia please contact Michelle at 570-759-0920 or michelle@nokillarc.org.
