Cutie is a 15-16 year old mixed shorthair that was rescued from living outdoors as a kitten. She has lived with one owner for the last 15 years inside a house in Florida. Her owner was recently diagnosed with leukemia and is unable to care for her at present.
Cutie is very, very skittish. With a new owner she may hide for several weeks before coming out to be interested in others. She was not socialized to being touched or picked up at a young age and is therefore not likely to ever tolerate handling. If you are standing up she is likely to avoid you, but after she gets to know you she will probably start to come out and take naps near you and ask to be pet when you are sitting down on a sofa, etc. Other than that she is perfectly nice and gentle and has gotten along with other cats in her prior home.
