Meet Cupcake - In a Foster Home
Cupcake is currently in a foster home and not at the shelter. Please email email@example.com if you would like to meet her!
Her foster homes says, "Cupcake is an adult (5ish) year old love bug. Just as her name suggests, she is as sweet as sugar! She also must have had quite a love of all yummy things because when she arrived at the shelter, she tipped the scales at an obese 19+ pounds! At that weight, Cupcake was not only incredibly unhealthy, but she was lethargic and couldn't let her sweet personality shine through her lack of energy. Cupcake has been in foster care where she was placed on a diet and exercise regimen. As you can imagine, she vehemently protested her new feeding schedule, but as she started to shed weight, she began to enjoy exercise (play time) more and more. Cupcake went from sleeping 23 hours a day at 19+ pounds to enjoying bird watching and chasing ribbon at a much healthier 14 pounds. She is now looking for a home that can handle her new svelte figure and constant love. Cupcake does not enjoy the company of other cats, but tolerates dogs that mind their own business. She does not initiate play on her own but will play with her human when prompted. This girl is incredibly smart. She is litterbox trained and currently uses a top entry litter box. Cupcake would greatly enjoy a family that she can spend all of her time with. Her favorite activities are rubbing on humans, giving sandpaper kisses, and birdwatching from the windowsill. As with all adoptable animals, she is up to date on vaccines and spayed. Let us know if you'd like to add something sweet to your lives today. "
The Jefferson Parish Animal Shelter adoption fee is $20. Fee includes vaccinations, mandatory spay/neuter surgery, FeLV/FIV test and microchip.
