Meet CRYBABY

Meet CRYBABY. He had an interesting "back story" when he came to us, and so we thought the finder's choice of CRYBABY was kind of cute. The story goes: Kitty had a home, was abandoned when his family moved away, the neighbors fed him outdoors and took him to the vet to get neutered and have his ear notched so he would be recognized as an already-altered outdoor cat. The expectation was he would live in the neighborhood and folks would keep an eye on him. BUT the kitty cried and talked and vocalized so much about wanting attention (i.e. wanting to go indoors at all the neighbors' houses) that they finders affectionately called him Crybaby.

We agreed to take him in to our rescue facility, because he was so very sweet and friendly and well-socialized. He immediately made himself at home and settled in perfectly. He got along with all the other cats and you could just tell that he was so grateful and happy to be in the environment.

Crybaby made such a good impression, that a family adopted him from us! They renamed him Cinnamon and absolutely loved having him at their home. Unfortunately, after several weeks, they realized that one of the family members has a cat allergy significant enough that they just couldn't make it work. So Crybaby/Cinnamon came back to stay at the cat lounge. And y'all... his heart was broken. It was as if this sweet boy had bounced back from his first abandonment and had so much to say about his hopes and dreams and was so full of optimism that things could be different for him... but he just has not been able to shake his sadness about being returned to us from his adoptive family.
He is still pleasant, cooperative, and docile but he has fallen silent. It's like he's given up. Like something in his spirit has broken. He eats, he receives affection, he gets along with everyone. But he is undeniably sad. We've realized we cannot call him Crybaby anymore, and we don't feel like Cinnamon is a good fit for him now, either. He needs a new name. And more than that, he needs a new home and family.
If anyone can find it in your heart to give this beautiful, kind soul a place where he can come to believe in the goodness of life, we know that he would reward you with love beyond measure.
He is a young cat -- probably not quite 2 YO -- he is neutered and fully vetted. He is a perfectly easy, wonderful companion. He needs someone to show him what is possible for him.
