Meet Cricket

Apr 8, 2017 - Cricket has been adopted. She was picked up this afternoon by the happy couple and will join a house with four other friendly cats. Her foster said "She will be very sadly missed but I’m thrilled that she’s found such a good home".

This is Cricket. She is a beautiful black domestic short hair with striking golden eyes. She is one of Misty’s six kittens, born on August 21, 2016. Misty’s story is below.

Cricket is the smallest of the litter, but she makes up for it with a big personality. She is shy when she first meets people, and will likely never be an extrovert, but once she feels comfortable with someone she turns on the charm. She has the cutest little language of chirps and trills and meows—you will know when she wants some attention. Cricket loves to snuggle and purr, especially if you’re cuddling in bed. If she likes you, she will happily jump into your lap for a visit and hang out while you work. Her foster says she is one of the most delightful little kitties she’s ever met.

Cricket is also very playful—she loves games that let her practice her hunting skills, she jumps like a cricket (hence the name), and is overall a playful, curious young cat. She would do well in a home that has another young cat to play with, and would be fine with a cat-friendly dog—her foster has two large dogs and she’s learned that they’re not scary. She needs a home with other pets.

All of Cricket’s siblings have now been adopted, so she’s the last one looking for her forever home. If you are looking for a sweet little kitty to brighten up your days, look no further.

NOTE: Spays, neuters, vaccinations and vet checks are included in the adoption fee.

This is Misty's story: Misty, a lovely gray DSH, was likely born 2014. She was first sighted in July 2015 rural area, not far from a highway, a favourite drop-off spot for cats. A cat rescuer was trying to trap her neighbour's indoor cat who had been on the loose for a month. As she hid in her little tent with her crate and line at 11:00 p.m. one night, Misty showed up looking very pregnant and very hungry. She entered the crate but the trapper was not quick enough and Misty escaped. She was not sighted again until February of 2016. She was with the male brown tabby the rescuer had been feeding for a couple of years...she became his girlfriend and before long was pregnant. Again the trapper was not able to get her; Misty was too trap-savvy. Misty must have had her kittens around April 21/16 because on that day she appeared ready to deliver, and CRN had a foster home waiting for her, but then she disappeared for several months. The kittens were never sighted even though people in the area were on high alert for Misty or her kittens. The temperature had dropped close to zero shortly after the estimated date of birth and there are raccoons and a fox in the area so they may not have survived.

Then Misty reappeared in August 2016, she was pregnant again. This time Misty trusted the rescuer and even ate when she was nearby. The rescuer was able to catch her in the crate two weeks before she had her current litter of six beautiful babies on August 21 ......2 brown tabbies..2 grey tabbies and 2 grey with bit of white. Misty turned out to be a friendly domestic cat, not a feral, and she appeared happy to have her kittens safely indoors. Misty is a very gentle cat with a sweet personality and is a very devoted momma! Her kittens are healthy and content and all will need loving forever homes.
