What is Sparkle Cat Rescue, Inc.’s adoption process?

Interested in adopting a Sparkle kitty? Apply via our website at www.sparklecatrescue.org Once your application has been approved, we will contact you to set up a meet 'n' greet. -All of our kitties are in foster homes. We do not have a facility for the public to meet our kitties. -All adoptions are by appointment only, and only with an approved application. The adoption fees are currently: $100.00 (per kitten or adult cat) Kittens are not able to leave foster care and to their adoptive homes until minimum 11-12 weeks of age and all kittens regardless of age must have their 2nd FVRCP kitten booster before adoption. ***Adoption fees are non-refundable.*** ***Please note we ALWAYS take our cats back if they do not work out in the home or if unforeseen circumstances happen in the future. Cats must come back to us and NOT be rehomed to family/friends/strangers*** *** We strive to find lifetime commitments for our kitties, who have been loved and well-taken care of by their foster families.***   -The adoption fee includes a combo test for FIV and FeLV, deworming while in foster care, flea preventative applied while in foster care, FVRCP boosters (3) for kittens, or adult FVRCP vaccination up to date, rabies vaccination, spay/neuter, microchip (we use Petstablished mini chip) As part of the adoption process, Sparkle Cat Rescue requires: -A complete adoption application submitted via our website. -We do not do same-day adoptions. Applications take 24-72 hours to process depending on accuracy of application. Applications received Friday night to Sunday night may not be screened until Monday. -Adopters MUST be 21 years of age. -Kittens and kids: children living in the home or visiting (ie shared custody) must be over 5 years old to adopt a kitten under 6 months old. No exceptions. -Landlord approval for all applicants leasing or renting their home. We do check. -All adopters must sign a contract agreeing they will not declaw their cat or physically alter their cats in any way. - All cats must be INDOOR cats only. - You must be able and willing to spend the time and money necessary to provide training, medical treatment and proper care for a pet for the entire life of that animal. - All current pets (cats, dogs) must be current on their vaccinations. -Any animals not owned by you living in or outside the home (i.e. a roommate or family member pet) must be current on vaccines and spay/neutered. - Adopter must own a cat carrier.  All cats must be transported in a pet carrier to vet visits for their safety. -Adoption fees may be paid via cash, check or via our website through the 'donate' tab AFTER approval and meet N greet if foster determines it is a good fit for cat/kitten.
