Cookie and Ernie started life on the street
Then one day a kind student they were lucky to meet
The kitties were digging in dumpsters to find something to eat
She recruited a team to lure them with treats
She was going home for the holiday but couldn’t leave them alone
She packed them all up so the streets they could no longer roam

At first they were scared and hid most of the time
They didn’t understand people could actually be kind
The kitties did well, grew healthy and thrived
When she went back to school they had to stay behind
But never fear, HSLC is here and a foster for the brothers they surely did find

They love other cats and to play with toys and with strings
Both ever so curious inspecting new things
Cookie's more white and purrs loud when playing
Ernie says the cat tree's the purrfect place for laying
They are enjoying affection and I believe all would concur
They have blossomed so much from the scared kitties they were!
