Hi! My name is Colette. I'm a petite cutie who is as lovable as can be. If you like cuddly cats, I'm your girl! They say that the eyes are a window to the soul, and if you look into mine closely, you'll see sweetness and love radiating like a sunbeam. I know, I don't have big, beautiful eyes like some of the cats here, but lots of people think my eyes are unique, adorable, and only add to my cuteness!. While initially a bit shy of hands, I warm up quickly after just a few gentle pets, then pour on the love with head bonks and rubs. When I feel particularly comfortable and content, I'll flop onto my side and roll around. If you hold me closely, I melt in your arms and love to be kissed on my head. I'll curl up on your lap and close my eyes in peaceful bliss if you stroke my soft fur. You'll hear a quiet, content purr vibrating the surrounding air. I'm too mature to care much about silly toys, but I do like to snuggle with small stuffed animals. When I first arrived at the shelter, I had conjunctivitis and a cyst under my eyelid. My eyes have a little drainage at times, but that can be carefully wiped away with a warm washcloth. I also receive a daily dose of eye drops to sooth and heal my peepers. Also, I am FIV-positive. Please don't let that turn you away! Provided with proper care, FIV-positive cats can have a great quality life for a long time. The medical staff can give you valuable information so that you can be well-informed about caring for an FIV+ cat like me. I would be happiest in a calm, mellow environment where I could bask in the sun and relax with my human friends. I might need some time and patience to adjust to my new home, but with careful nurturing, I know I'll transition in no time.
