Cochella's Story
Hey y'all, my name is Cochella and I am ready to be spoiled after being neglected in a filthy, small cage in a garage for 11 years. I was kept with my kitten all those years and we had nothing to do all day, we were ignored by our "caregiver". Sadly, in March, the garage caught fire and 6 of our cat neighbors lost their lives. In a way, the garage fire saved me because it brought to light how I was being treated and lead to my rescuing. My adult kitten and I were largely unscathed from the fire, tho we did have a massive flea infestation and our coats reeked of smoke and were covered with soot. Right away, my new foster mom and rescuer noticed my adult kitten using the litter box too frequently, and the vet discovered that she had a painful mass taking up 90% of her bladder. The kindest thing to do was put her to rest, leaving me by myself :(

Despite having a horrible 11 years living that way, I am still incredibly affectionate and sweet. I act like I am trying to make up for all the years without love by being overly affectionate now. All I want to do is perch in my new foster mom's lap and purr. I also like when she picks me up and gives me a good head scratch. She says I have very pretty eyes and the cutest little tan spot near my mouth. When foster mom tries to leave the room I am in, I run out in front of her and meow to try and convince her to stay longer. That trick usually works to keep her in there longer.

Sometimes I do get a little over stimulated but foster mom says I have some telltale signs and she knows when I need a break. I probably wouldn't be great in a house with young kids.

All I want is a nice home who will cherish me for the rest of my days like I deserve. I don't really like other cats but I can tolerate cat friendly dogs.

If you want to meet Coachella, please submit an application here:
https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/HPPL/Cat

Cochella is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, dewormed, FeLV/FIV/HW tested (negative) and on flea prevention.

.

Please be sure to check your junk folder if you start an inquiry on Petfinder!
