Cilantro! Yep that’s me and this is my story.

It started when the message came a crossed the rescue board!

“Hi All!
There is a black/white cat abandoned in Amelia right on State Route 125 where there is heavy traffic. A woman is leaving food. The kitty runs to her crying and rubs up against her legs. It even jumped into her car crying.

This kitty needs help before he gets hit by a car.

He was laying in the middle of the parking lot.

Can anyone foster him?"

I happen to be on that side of town which I ordinarily live 50 minutes away from so I immediately stepped into action after my appointment and went to the Pawn Shop where they stated he was living in the parking lot in back.

I get out of my car and call kitty kitty and this poor defeated guy comes out from behind a fence in the back of the Pawn Shop crying for help.

I had no cat carrier on me as I was not in my car at the time, so I just picked this guy up and put him in my car with the air conditioning where he just sat on the floor until we arrived at the vet an hour later for him to be immediately processed as he was in bad shape.

After the vet, I brought him home so that he could get some rest and relaxation.

Later I find a small bump on the back of his leg, after the vet did further examination, they determined it was a BB bullet. Since it was so close to the surface of the skin it had to be removed as it was causing him pain.

Hearing that this poor sweet kitty that only wants love and attention had been shot by BB gun broke our hearts, knowing that he probably had more within his body because you just don’t shoot at a cat once.

Cilantro, despite everything that he has been through, is literally a true lover, he will sit on your lap for hours and adore the pets that you give him.

Cilantro is a very relaxed cat not needing much attention at all.

Cilantro would make a great therapy cat or even a great cat for anybody working from home or maybe just looking for a companion of their own.

Cilantro does very well with dogs as long as they are not chasing him.

Cilantro is a domestic short hair, tuxedo mix, approximately 4 years old.

Cilantro will need to be the only cat in the home due to the previous attacks done by other cats while he was living out the worst part of his life.

Cilantro is also FIV positive which does not mean anything in a sense other than he has a lower immune system.

Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) FIV (Feline immunodeficiency virus) is a viral infection that affects cats. It causes affected animals to have a weaker immune system in comparison with non-FIV positive cats. FIV initially results in a short-lived illness that’s often not even noticed by a cat’s owner.
