Meet Choco Latte

Choco Latte has the most gorgeous, unusual brown coat, similar to the Havana Brown breed, and magnificent green eyes. She is probably about 18 months old and started her life outside as either a lost or stray cat. Her first litter of three arrived when she was still a kitten herself. She was rescued about a week before birthing her second litter of five in September 2021, and she has lived indoors since then. She is now spayed, wormed, and flea treated, and has had her rabies shot.
Choco’s whole life has been raising and protecting her kittens. She is currently still housed with her first three kittens who are young adult cats now. She continues to protect and lead them and is definitely a matriarch. She has started to play with cat toys just a little, but prefers just sitting in a window being vigilant (and beautiful!). She can be petted and lightly brushed on her terms, but she is still very cautious and seems uncertain about what an indoor pet cat is supposed to do. She takes a cautious approach to her interaction with people, but will rub on your legs fairly often. Though she may think she can do without people, there is something about her that tells you she is very loyal. Though still young, she’s an old soul.
Choco did well in her early months as an outdoor cat and was an avid hunter. Sometimes, when she is window watching, it seems as if she misses being outdoors, but she seems content enough to be indoors and doesn’t make any effort to escape. Access to a catio porch would probably be heaven for her.
Choco needs a lot of patience to transform into a trusting pet. She needs time to figure out what being a pet is all about. She hisses readily, mostly as a warning to her kittens that something is going on, but is not aggressive. She scares easily and will hide under things. She is very quiet. She might do well with other cats who would respect her as their leader, and she could be adopted with one of her daughters. She could also do well as an only cat. She has no known experience with dogs but probably would not accommodate them easily.
