Hi there! My name is Chimayo and this is my best friend and sister Cascabel. I am a handsome, shorthaired, gray tabby boy. I know I look a little different, which has scared off some people, but my foster mom tells me that I am extra cute and extra sweet, just like my sister. We were born August 23, 2020, and we need to find a home together. Before coming to the Rescue, we were found by animal control and we were in pretty rough shape. We spent a week in the vet hospital before going to our foster home. My eye infections were so bad for so long that I ended up with a scar on one eye. It makes it look cloudy, then my other eye partially fused my upper eyelid over my eye. But please don't let that scare you. I get along just fine. All I need is a home where people love me no matter how I look. Besides, I think I am just like all the other kitties. My sister Cascabel and I both love to play with other kitties and with people. I like to make chirpy noises as I run around playing, while my sister doesn’t talk as much as I do. We love to cuddle with people, every person we meet is our best friend! Because we went through so much together, we do really enjoy each other’s company and would like to stay together forever. When we aren’t playing, we like to jump on the couch and rub against anyone we can find, then take a nap on their lap. We also enjoy sleeping in bed with our foster parents every night. We are both very good kitties and always use the litter box, too. If you think you can handle all the love we have to give and cuddle with us often, we might be the kittens for you! Adoption Process: Complete the application at www.pawsforliferescue.org. We then arrange a location, date and time for you to meet some pets. If the meeting goes well and everyone is happy, you begin the mandatory, minimum two-week adjustment period with the pet as part of your family. You will pay the non-refundable adoption fee at the start of the two-week adjustment period. This pending period allows your new dog or cat time to adjust to their new home, new people, new routine, etc., and for you to decide if it's a match and the right pet for you. At the end of two weeks (some people extend the adjustment time as needed and that's fine too), if everyone is happy, then we finalize the adoption. Feel free to email if you have any questions.
