Meet Chickadee

Chickadee is a sweet 1 year old girl looking for her forever home!

This pretty little girl came from a home with too many cats and did not get the early people socialization that makes a kitten more confident in meeting new people. Because she is quite the girl with cute, high-stepping moves who ‘prances and struts’ around, she did receive attention in ‘rough’ play that included teasing with human hands.

We’ve been working every day so she has learned to look forward to being pet and she no longer tries to bite when a hand comes out to pet. These are huge accomplishments for her. She sometimes still hides under a loveseat or behind a chair when her foster gets up to scoop her litterbox or rounds up her toys to pile up so she can rearrange them all overnight.

Chickadee has a soft, peach colored coat with just a little white on her paws. She’s very busy and would probably like to live with another younger cat who would play games of chase. She has lived with another cat who was more dominant and she was a ‘victim’ and quite frightened by that kind of treatment—she truly needs a kind playmate with whom she can have gentle feline fun.

She loves to play with ‘pole’ toys, a cat dancer, and smaller soft toys to bat and toss around. She loves a cat tree to watch what’s going on outside.
This beautiful girl likes to be stroked and settles briefly on your lap for attention. She loves her kibble and would easily eat more than is healthy for her (her vet says she is plenty ‘chubby’ already), and likes Fancy Feast-type wet food too - WITH GRAVY, please!

Chickadee will do best in a quieter home with an adult or two who will play with her a lot and help her keep on learning to trust people. She has not been around many any dogs, but would enjoy playing with another calm, kind cat.

This little orange bird has been through a lot. If you’d like to give her all the love she deserves while helping her to feel safe, cared for, and loved, Chickadee would love to be a part of your family.
