Chestnut was a stray in Waterloo, Iowa. He is now up to date on shots, neutered, and tested FeLV / FIV negative. He is living in a foster home.
This litter of beautiful kittens and Momma were found underneath a porch of an older couple in Waterloo. They are about 3 months old as of 11/3/16. They had not been there since birth they just all gathered there. They were in luck as the older couple and their family were all cat lovers and one of the families have even adopted from Waverly Pet Rescue before!
The family stepped up to be foster families, which was so cool!
They are as cute as they come and very playful
Five of the seven kittens and Momma are all polydactyl felines with extra toes.
They are now ready to go to their forever homes.
Chestnut is one of the 7 kittens that is polydactyl. He is also very playful!
Kittens in the litter are: Blue, Delilah, Nova, Chestnut.
12/28/16 UPDATE: Chestnut is about 6 month old now. He is a four paw polydactyl with striking markings and a fun personality to boot. He is a talker, especially when he is searching for food.
4/3/17 UPDATE: Chestnut is a tiny cat with a big heart. Very sweet though also a bit skittish. He can be quiet and timid at first and feels much more confident with another cat pal around. He enjoys spending his days playing and lounging around with his littermate Nova and he absolutely adores his mama Autumn Rose. He would love to share his forever home with one of them if you could make room for two.
2/13/19 UPDATE: Chestnut has really come out of his shell, He is now "adventurous and playful", he is no longer as skittish with people. He also would now be ok being adopted as an only cat, although he does enjoy having another cat around to play with and chase, as long as he has plenty of attention and toys to help him expend energy he has become more adaptable to being on his own as well.
12/16/19 UPDATE: Chestnut's mom and all his siblings have been adopted. He is the last one to need a home. He is an awesome cat once he settles in and gets to know you. His adopter will need to set him up properly once taken home, and give him a couple of weeks, and you will see the sweet lovable boy we know. He loves to be petted and seeks you out for attention. Chestnut does well with older children. No young children would be best. He would love a forever home!
Will someone please adopt Chestnut and give him a forever home? $95 adoption fee.
WE ARE A NO-KILL 501-C-3 NON-PROFIT RESCUE. All donations are tax deductible. We do not have a shelter. All pets live in foster homes. We only adopt to indoor homes. To see an animal, you must fill out an application first and then once approved, we can set up for you to meet the animal you are interested in. We do background checks on all applicants. If you have assault, domestic abuse, or drug charges please do not apply. If you have questions, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
All animals see a vet for shots and normal exams. If they appear healthy and there are no obvious health concerns, then extensive testing is not done. This is normal procedure for pet rescues and shelters.
Waverly Pet Rescue puts a lot of money into medical care for each dog and cat we take in. $150 is the average cost for basic care. This does not include if the animal had an injury, required extra flea / ear mite treatments, or needed extra days at the vet office.
